Suspect arrested on return to crime scene

A 41-year-old man from Larnaca was arrested on Saturday after returning to the scene of his alleged crime.

According to the police, a woman had reported at 9am that she saw a man trying to hide a women’s handbag in a church yard. She also said that that she saw the man staring at a nearby car before walking away.

Officers, who went in the area, located the owner of the car in question who told them that someone had smashed the back door window and stole her handbag, which was empty.

The suspect was arrested after returning to where the car he had allegedly broken into had been parked.
