Temperatures to soar at the weekend

The heat wave experienced the last couple of days is set to continue as temperatures are expected to soar over 40C during the weekend, the met office said on Tuesday.

A minor drop in the temperatures is expected inland on Wednesday and Thursday by one degree, to 39C, the met office said, but as of Friday temperatures are expected to gradually rise to reach between 41C and 42C at the weekend. This affects inland areas, it said.

In the coastal areas, temperatures are expected to be around 35C in the east, 33C in the south and 31C in the west and north and in the mountainous areas. During the weekend temperatures in the coastal areas are expected to rise by one to two degrees.
