Paphos police arrested two men on Tuesday evening who allegedly abducted and beat up a 19-year-old man. They were later remanded for two days.

The victim reported to police that a 21-year-old man from a village in the Paphos district called him on Tuesday and suggested they go for a drive in a Paphos neighbourhood in his car.

They ended up on a motorcycle racing track in Koloni where, the 19-year-old said, he was tied up by the 34-year-old owner who then beat various parts of his body with the help of a second person while the attackers tried to force him to admit he had broken into the premises a few days ago.

The 34-year-old, who is known by the authorities, was arrested at 9.50pm as was the 21-year-old. Both gave themselves up to police.
