AEGEAN continues to hold first place for the quality of its services

For the seventh consecutive year and for the eighth time in 9 years, AEGEAN is proclaimed as the best regional airline in Europe for 2017, at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, the Oscars of the aviation industry

  For the seventh consecutive year, as part of the Skytrax World Airline Awards, the professionalism and conduct of AEGEAN’s staff, along with the total flight experience offered to passengers, ranked top among the service categories that passengers were asked to vote for.

Commenting on the Award, Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax said: “Aegean Airlines continues to be a passenger favourite in the World Airline Awards and we are delighted to see the airline named as Europe’s Best Regional Airline for a record seventh time. We see from the customer survey responses, that Aegean continues to score well for staff service, and importantly this is supported by a strong product offer.”

Dimitris Derogiannis, Managing Director of AEGEAN, said: “For the 7th consecutive year, we demonstrate, through an international institution of recognized value, that a Greek company can stand out among 325 airlines, for its quality and efficiency. This distinction gains ever more value for us, as it comes directly from the passengers, who place their trust in us every day, and recognize the customer-centric approach of our staff and the effort we put in each day, in order to improve our services.”

It is noted that the company won the Skytrax World Airline Award for Best Regional Airline in Europe for the 7th consecutive year, and for the 8th time in the last 9 years. This year’s award ceremony was held on June 20, 2017, during the Paris Air Show.

The World Airline Awards are managed by international air transport rating organisation, Skytrax Research of London, UK.

19.87 million eligible survey entries were counted in the final results, and 105 nationalities participated in the survey from August 2016 to May 2017 (surveys in English, Spanish and Chinese). The survey covers over 325 airlines, from largest international airlines to smaller domestic carriers, measuring Quality standards for 41 KPI’s across front-line product and service factors in the Airport and Onboard environments.A key directive is for travellers to make their own, personal choice as to which airline they consider best, underlining the brand as the Passenger’s Choice Awards.
