Unemployment drops to 11 per cent in May

Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in Cyprus dropped to 11 per cent, or 46,000 individuals in May from 11.3 per cent in April and 12.8 per cent in May 2016.

The unemployment rate was 11.2 per cent for men and 10.8 for women.

Youth unemployment dropped to 9,000 individuals, down from 11,000 in May 2016.
The EU28 unemployment rate was 7.8 per cent in May, stable compared with April 2017 and down from 8.7 per cent in May 2016.

This was the lowest rate recorded in the EU28 since December 2008.

The figures were published by Eurostat.
