Unemployment reduction halted in June

The number of registered unemployed rose by 655 in June to 30,577 compared to May and fell by 4,688 compared to the respective month of 2016, the statistical service said.

The number of people registered as being without a job fell last month by 539 in a month to a seasonally adjusted 33,631 and by 4,806 in a year, Cystat said in a statement on its website on Wednesday.

The 13 per cent annual drop in the number of jobseekers in May was mainly on a reduction of unemployed by 1,377 in the area of public administration, 1,143 in construction, 679 in trade, 496 in manufacturing and 288 in finance and insurance, Cystat said.
