Building permits up 38% in January to April, Cystat says

Building permits rose in the first four months of the year an annual 38 per cent in are to 385,725 square meters and 36 per cent in terms of value to €405.5m, the statistical service said.

The area of housing projects which had a building permit issued in January to April rose 36 per cent to 324,206 square meters compared with the respective period of 2016, Cystat said. Their value rose 31 per cent to €307m.

In the first four months of 2016, the construction area of commercial projects that secured a building permit rose 44 per cent to 55,298 square meters while their value rose 76 per cent to €69.6m compared to a year before, Cystat said.
