Passengers escape injury when car goes up in flames after crash

The fire service was called in on two occasions Saturday night and early Sunday to put out fire on two cars, one of which burst into flames when it crashed.

The first incident occurred at around 11.20pm in Limassol between the roundabouts of Mesa Yeitonia and Ayios Athanasios, when a car went up in flames after crashing into a metal road partition. The passengers, who managed to exit the vehicle without any injuries, were taken to Limassol general hospital as a precaution.

Another car, that was parked in a shed made from corrugated metal and wood in a plot in Anthoupolis, in Nicosia, went up in flames at around 4.20am. The fire was put out by two engines some 30 minutes later. Both car and shed were damaged extensively.
