A Qantas aircraft flying from Dubai to London, diverted its flight to Larnaca airport on Tuesday morning after a female passenger who said she was pregnant, fell ill.

The aircraft requested permission to land at Larnaca airport at around 11am for medical emergency after the passenger reportedly said she was pregnant and complained of pain in the abdomen.

An ambulance transferred the woman to Larnaca general hospital. After her luggage was unloaded, the plane departed at around 12.25pm for Heathrow airport.

State broadcaster CyBC reported that the initial pregnancy test the woman was given was negative, but she underwent more medical tests. Citing doctors, CyBC said if she was pregnant she must be at the first stages of gestation.
