Lone diver rescued

Marine authorities on Thursday located and picked up a lone diver who had been reported missing.

At around 3pm the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) in Larnaca received a report about a diver who had gone missing in the Larnaca bay area.

Three vessels were dispatched. The diver was found near Lenios beach at around 4.30pm.

The man was taken to Larnaca general hospital for an examination. He was found to be in good health.

Commenting on the incident, JRCC reminded amateur divers to apply all safety precautions and to avoid diving alone.
