Police officer rescues woman from sea

A woman who lost consciousness while swimming in the sea in the Kato Paphos area was rescued by a policeman who jumped into the sea fully clothed on Tuesday afternoon.

Passers-by spotted the woman, 42, floating in the sea at around 4pm and alerted a police officer who was on patrol in the area.

After the officer jumped into the sea and rescued her she received first aid with the help of a lifeguard.

An ambulance took her to Paphos hospital where she was diagnosed with a head wound, treated and discharged.
