The 2017 MTV VMA’s performances revealed

Demi Lovato, DNCE and Rod Stewart will perform at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards

The 25-year-old singer, Demi Lovato,  will take to the stage at The Forum in Inglewood, California on August 27 with her track ‘Sorry Not Sorry’, that is nominated for Song of the Summer.

DNCE – who won last year’s Best New Artist award – will join forces with Rod for what promises to be an epic performance of his hit ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy’.

The event will be hosted by Katy Perry, who is nominated for five of the iconic Moonman statuettes at the upcoming ceremony.

In a statement, she said: “I’ve been training with MTV in zero gravity, eating astronaut ice cream, and I’m on a group text with Buzz Aldrin and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Come August 27th, I’ll be ready to be your MOONWOMAN! Brace for impact, kids.”

Whilst Viacom’s head of music and music talent, global entertainment group, Bruce Gillmer, added: “We’re thrilled to have global phenomenon Katy Perry as the host and a performer at the 2017 VMAs. She is at the forefront of music culture and the perfect person to anchor this year’s show, which promises to be one of the most diverse and music-filled in VMA history.”

Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, The Weeknd, Fifth Harmony, Lorde, 30 Seconds to Mars and Shawn Mendes are also set to perform, having previously been announced.

And Pink is set to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award at the 2017 ceremony. It is the highest honour available to artists at the awards show and has previously been won by the likes of Madonna, Beyoncé, and Rihanna.
