Car bursts into flames

A car burst into flames after a collision in the village of Pera Orini in the Nicosia district on Friday morning but the driver, who was slightly injured, managed to abandon the vehicle.

The Lakatamia fire station, which was notified of the fire at 5.20am, responded with a rescue team and managed to bring the fire under control within 15 minutes.

The driver was treated at the scene before he was taken to Nicosia general hospital.
