Presidential elections to take place on January 28 and February 4

The presidential elections will take place on January 28 and February 4 next year, it was officially announced on Thursday.

The decision was made at a meeting earlier in the day, the first one between Interior Minister Constantinos Petrides and the political parties on the elections, with the participation of Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Kypros Kyprianou and officials from the Election Service.

“Almost all the political parties decided that the first round of the presidential elections will take place on the January 28, 2018 and the second round on February 4, 2018,” it added.
The last date for registration on the electoral roll or for registration to vote abroad will be December  18, 2017.
