Elderly Limassol man still missing after seven days

Police, the civil defence service and the family of 85-year-old Giorgos Pateras who was reported missing from his Limassol home seven days ago are continuing the search for the elderly man.

The octogenarian was reported missing by his daughter, who told police he left their home in Omonoia area on Tuesday and has not returned.

Pateras is around 1.70m tall, slightly overweight and has short white hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a khaki-coloured shirt and black shoes.

The search is focused mainly on the Omonoia and Zakaki areas, police said.

Police urge anyone with information that could help locate Pateras, to call Limassol CID on 25 805057, or the nearest police station, or the citizen’s hotline 1460.
