Teenager in intensive care after accident

Nicosia general hospital

A 19-year-old man from Nicosia is being treated in the intensive care unit of the Nicosia general hospital following a road accident on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

According to the police statement, the accident took place shortly before 3pm in Nicosia when a car driven by a 60-year-old woman in under as-yet unidentified circumstances crashed into the 19-year-old’s motorbike.

The collision caused the motorcyclist injuries to his liver, kidney and spleen, as well as fractures in his arms and legs.

He underwent surgery and transferred to the intensive care unit.

Nicosia traffic police continue to investigate the causes of the accident.
