Emotions flow free in oil paint

Georgian artist Natia Chkheidze will showcase her paintings at Apothikes in Larnaca as of Friday.

The painter finished her studies at the Tbilisi Academy of Arts in 2004 and continued her studies in the faculty of Architecture and Interior Design. Her professional career began in December 216 when she had her first solo exhibition at the Contemporary Art Fair at the MuseuMarítim de Barcelona.

The work she will present to the Larnaca crowd was created after a recent trip to Barcelona. Her work at present is mostly done with oil paints. Using a palette knife, she overlays colours using huge smears to create form and volume. Her fast strokes stem from her desire to explore and express her inner emotions.
