Roadworks in Kaimakli

Due to roadworks in the old centre of Kaimakli, a suburb of Nicosia, which aim to rejuvenate the area, Grigoris Afxentiou and Diogenous streets will be temporarily closed to traffic from Monday to Thursday next week, the Nicosia municipality announced on Wednesday.

According to a statement, Grivas Digenis street from the junction with Grigoris Afxentiou street to the junction with Diogenous, as well as the part of Kalavriton street, which had been temporarily closed due to the earlier phase of the roadworks, will re-open for traffic as of Monday.

All required arrangements to minimise inconvenience for the area’s residents will be made, the municipality said.

Drivers were urged to follow traffic signs and exercise extreme caution during this period.

Expressing sadness for any inconvenience that may be incurred, the municipality noted that the rejuvenation work will benefit Nicosia and its residents, “particularly the area’s residents”.

“For any additional information or clarification, please contact the project’s architect Simos Droushiotis at 22797556,” the statement said.
