Missing tourist found dead on beach near his hotel

A 61-year-old tourist from the UK who went missing on Monday, was found dead on Tuesday morning at the beach close to his Paphos hotel.

The man was found on Kotsias beach in Lemba, not far from the hotel he was staying. He was reportedly suffering from serious health problems.

The 61-year-old who was on the island on holiday, was to depart for the UK on Monday but went missing after checking out of the hotel. A friend of his who was staying at the same hotel had reported his disappearance to police.

During a search on Monday, the man’s luggage was located outside the hotel while his jacket was found floating in the sea.

A post mortem will be carried out.
