Kiosk worker threatened at knife point

A worker at a kiosk in Nicosia was threatened at knifepoint during an attempted robbery on Wednesday evening, according to police.

When police officers investigated they found the kiosk was in a mess and there was some damage to the premises.

The 62-year-old employee reported that at 10.50pm a man had threatened her with a knife after entering.

After damaging the cash register he left on a motorbike without taking anything.

The would-be robber is described as being tall and sturdy. He was wearing dark clothes and gloves as well as a hood and a white helmet.
