Paphos lights up with fairs

A number of Christmas fairs and markets will get underway in Paphos in the coming days, some driving home the message of Christmas by raising money for local charities.

On Saturday the Kamares Christmas bazaar will be held at Kamares Club, Tala from 10am to 4pm with over 50 stalls selling all sorts of items. The event will be held inside and outside the club around the swimming pool, and includes arts and crafts, clothing, jewellery, beauty items, Christmas gifts, hand painted glass, magic tricks, paintings, Poinsettas and other plants and flowers.

There will be an entertainment programme and entry is free.

The event is being held in support of Paphos Cancer Patients Support Group and food and drink is available throughout the day.

On Friday November 24 from 10am-2pm, the Polis Herb garden Christmas crafters and farmers market will be held at the Polis herb garden restaurant in Polis Chrysochous.

This event sees around 20 or so stalls selling only artisan and homemade items including jewellery, copper kitchenware and decorations, gifts, hand knitted designs, framed photographs of the area from Pomos to Latchi, and paintings. Hand sewn toys and cakes, pies and mulled wine are also on offer.

Entrance is free and a number of stalls for artisans are still available.

The Peyia women’s association Christmas market will take place in the village on Saturday November 25 from 11am-3pm, outside the municipality building.

The covered event has free entry and all sorts of stalls will sell clothes, Christmas ornaments and cards, calendars, cakes, pastries, plants, minced pies, mulled wine and more.

There will also be a tombola and Father Christmas will pay a visit between 11am and 1pm with gifts for the children. Music will play all day and stalls are still available.
