Man arrested for drug smuggling

Police on Wednesday arrested a Limassol 35-year-old man in connection with smuggling some five kilos of cannabis through the post.

The suspect, reportedly a special education teacher, was arrested after Greek customs found a Cyprus-bound package at the Athens airport last week containing 5.4 kilos of cannabis.

After informing police on the island, the package was sent to Cyprus where the drug squad tracked down the 35-year-old.

He was arrested in Limassol on Wednesday as investigation into the case continues.
