Arrest made in connection with attempted murder in Limassol

A 20-year old man has been arrested in Limassol in connection with an attack in which two Indian men were seriously injured on November 2, police said on Sunday.

The two young Indian men were seriously injured after being attacked and stabbed by five other Indians on the night of November 2 in Limassol.

The two men, 27 and 21, were rushed to Limassol general hospital at around 8pm.

The 27-year-old, police said, who had deep stabbing wounds on his chest and stomach, was intubated and underwent surgery. The 21-year-old, stabbed in the stomach, also underwent surgery.

Police said they were treating the case as attempted murder and cited witness testimony that the two victims were assaulted by a group of five individuals.
