Man rescued from 30m ravine

Firemen and civil defence on Sunday rescued a man from a 30-metre ravine between the villages of Lythrodontas and Kyprosasas in the Nicosia district,

The man, whose identity or age was not given, had been riding a quad bike in the mountainous area. After being rescued, he was taken by ambulance to Nicosia general hospital. His condition was not made known.

“The young man was on a four-wheeled motorcycle when he lost control and ended up in the ravine. A team and a rescue vehicle from the Acropolis Station Adamou Adamou Station and a team from EMAK took part in the operation,” a statement said.
