New trilateral meetings in Nicosia in January

New trilateral meetings will be held in Nicosia in January, government sources told CNA on Sunday, the news agency said.

Specifically, the leaders of Cyprus, Greece and Israel will meet in Nicosia in the first ten days of January, while in the second ten days of the month a trilateral meeting between Cyprus – Greece – Jordan will also take place in Nicosia.

The same sources told CNA that consultations with Lebanon in order to organise a trilateral summit between Greece, Cyprus and Lebanon, was at an advanced stage, although no date has yet been set due to the recent political developments in the country.

The meetings will deal with by regional developments, energy issues, including the East Med pipeline, the role of the EU in the region, and the relations between the countries.

Last Tuesday, the leaders of Cyprus, Greece and Egypt adopted a Joint Declaration after the 5th Trilateral Summit in Nicosia, expressing their firm commitment to further broaden and deepen their trilateral partnership in various fields of common interest.
