Emergency exercise slated for Larnaca airport departure area

There will be an emergency exercise at Larnaca airport on Tuesday evening, police announced on Monday.

The exercise organised by airport operator Hermes and the civil aviation will start at 9.45pm and take about one hour.

The training also includes members of the police force and the fire services.

The exercise scenario will depict a fire in the departure area and the services need to fight the fire, evacuate the departure area and rescue people.

Police stressed that this would be an exercise and passengers need not be alarmed. All measures will be taken to avoid inconveniencing passengers and flights are not expected to be affected.
