From existing art, young minds make more

The Bank Of Cyprus Cultural Foundation will use its current Rooms to Contemplate: Content and Perspective of a Collection art exhibition to inspire children to create next month during two workshops.

The first, on December 2, will be a printmaking workshop for children from four to eight-years-old. Visual artist and printmaker Eleni Panagidou will introduce the children to the art exhibition, from which they will draw inspiration from the symbols and shapes featured in the exhibition. With this inspiration participants will create their own stamps and then print them on fabric bags.

The second workshop will be a theatre workshop on December 12, suitable for children from eight to 12-years-old. Actress and director Evangelia Onouphirou will take the children through the two rooms where the exhibition is displayed and tell them that this is the setting for their story. The story, which will unfold during a theatre game and star artwork from the exhibition, will be told through narration and improvisation.

Both workshops will run twice, at 10.30am and 12.30pm. They have no admission fee, but do register your attendance by calling 22-128182 as places are limited.
