Musicians from Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra will combine their talents on Sunday during a performance at the Town Hall of Ayios Athanasios Municipality in Limassol at 7.30pm.
Violist Ekaterina Ivanenko, flautist Natalia Bereslavtseva, cellist Robert Grod and pianist Tatiana Stupak, will play pieces by Beethoven, Chopin, Franz Hoffmeister, Kodaly, Vittorio Monti, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky and Limassol composer David Pentecost. The concert will also feature Christmas music.
Bereslavtseva began studying music at the age of six in Vladikavkaz and went to the School of Moscow State University and continued her studies at the Moscow State Conservatory. Since 2002 she has been the solo flautist in the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, and since 2004, solo flautist in the orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre. She is a permanent soloist of the Chamber Orchestra of the Bolshoi Theatre.
Ivanenko, from Leningrad, graduated from the St Petersburg State Conservatory. She joined the Bolshoi Orchestra as a viola player in 2013. She is a winner of various Russian and international competitions, and has been a participant in numerous master-classes.
Grod, from Lithuania, studied in Vilnius at the Balys Dvarionas music school and at the Moscow State Conservatory. He is a laureate prize winner of the Dvarionas and Urba music competitions in Lithuania. Since his graduation he has been working in Nicosia as part of the Cyprus Young String Soloists.
Stupak started piano lessons at five years old. She studied at the Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in St Petersburg and has performed in Austria and Germany as well as in Russia. Stupak is currently based here, where she performs around the island and teaches piano.
