Police looking for would be co-op bank robbers

File photo

Police are looking for four people after they unsuccessfully tried to rob a co-op bank in Parekklisia in the early hours of Friday.

The would-be robbers first tried to get money from an ATM machine at the bank using a controlled explosion but didn’t succeed.

They then broke the glass front of the branch and entered, but again didn’t manage to take any money.

Before police arrived, alerted by an alarm which sounded, the perpetrators fled.

Footage from video surveillance cameras shows there were four persons who were speaking in a foreign language.
