Bar review: Deck, Paphos

Deck in Paphos boasts some of the most magnificent views on the island. Aptly named, outdoor wooden decks make this venue the perfect place to watch the soothing ebb and flow of the sea.

Open all day, serving meals, snacks and drinks, Deck is popular with both tourists and locals. On the seafront in Kato Paphos, this is a great place to take cover from both the searing heat of the summer and the torrential rain of winter.

The outdoor area is large and ample shade is provided during the summer, and inside there is a central fireplace to keep customers warm.

Staff are friendly and efficient and although prices are not cheap, they are reasonable and worth it for the relaxing atmosphere and expansive views.

Enjoy a delicious hot chocolate or a coffee on a cold day or a cold beer of glass of wine during the heat of summer. The food here is good too and portions are generous.

The interior is sleek and stylish with a touch of beach hut glamour. Large glass sliding doors can be moved to suit the weather and although the ceiling is high, the venue still manages to give off a cosy aura.

All sorts of people frequent this café bar, and families are welcome. Try the home made burgers, they are delicious and cocktails and prosecco are good too.
This is one of the best places in Paphos to enjoy the sunset and indoor and outdoor seating is comfortable. It’s also a top spot to relax and while away the weekend hours, watching the world and his dog go by, quite literally, as there is a seaside pathway below.

After you’ve sampled the menu or had your fill of beer, wine, prosecco, cocktails or coffee, you can walk a few steps to the beach to relax, or follow the path along towards Geroskipou or Paphos harbour for a stroll.

Deck is perfectly positioned and offers magnificent views with good prices, friendly staff and a varied food and drinks menu. If like me, you haven’t visited for a while, it may be time to go back.
