The Cyprus Football Association (CFA) decided on Tuesday it will be the sole provider of tickets for the majority of local matches in a bid to eliminate violence from stadiums.
Tickets for away fans in games between Anorthosis, Aek, Apollon, Apoel, Ael and Omonia will only be available through the CFA website.
When entering the stadium, ticket holders will need to show their ID as well as their ticket to enter the stands. They will be able to hold on to their ticket.
The measure is set to be enforced from the start of the year ahead of games scheduled on January 2 and 3 if the ticketing system is ready.
So far, tickets were either available online through the websites of major teams or at the stadium entrance.
Earlier this month, Tsirion stadium rocked by violence when rocks, pieces of glass and concrete, glass alcohol bottles, flares, firecrackers and other objects were thrown when rival fans of local team AEL and Nicosia side Apoel clashed.
