Farmers compensated for damages

€1.5m will be paid out in damages

Some €1.5m will be paid to farmers for damages incurred almost four years ago following a cabinet decision on Wednesday.

Speaking after a cabinet session, Agriculture Minister Nicos Kouyialis said the payouts would beign shortly.

“We are required to pay (the €1.5m) by the end of 2018,” he said.

According to the minister, the European Commission has been informed and “we have received all approvals.”
