Achna council puts off decision on crocodile park

The Achna community council has put off to a decision regarding the opening of a crocodile park in the district.

“The community council decided unanimously to ask the head of district administration in Famagusta, Giorgos Chrysafinis, to convene a meeting of all the relevant state services, in the presence of the company that wants to create the crocodile park, so that all views, positive and negative, will be heard. A further session of the community council will then take place in order to make the final decision ” community leader Nicos Vassilas said.

The crocodile park, a theme park with about 150 crocodiles, was rejected by the Psevmatismos and Athienou communities, and in December Israeli company TSA Crocopark approached the Achna district to discuss the project.

The site for the eventual creation of the park is located near the old road from Larnaca to Famagusta, in the area between the Achna forest and Vrysoulles.
