A minute with

A minute with Veronika Antoniou Architect and Creative Director of Urban Gorillas

Where do you live?
I live in Nicosia and soon will be living in Tokyo, with my partner and daughter.

Best childhood memory?
Playing football and climbing trees at my grand mom’s neighbourhood.

Most frequented restaurant and absolute favourite dish? What food would you really turn your nose up to?
I love everything that is local and fresh. I also love Asian cuisine and often go to Sushi La. I am vegetarian because I am disgusted wit the idea of eating red meat.

What did you have for breakfast?
Rice, Avocado, Nori and Natto (Japanese beans)

Would you class yourself as a day or night person? What’s your idea of the perfect night/day out?
I am a 24-hour person. Any hour is good for me! Perfect day out will be to be in good company outdoors: public spaces and beautiful landscapes.

Best book ever read?
I love Haruki Murakami’s 1Q84, a three-volume dystopian novel. I adore all Murakami’s books because though the vivid description of his characters, a blurring thin line is created juxtaposing reality and imagination.

Favourite film of all time?
Run LoLa Run. Because I realised that you can create your own story.

Best holiday ever taken?
Best holiday ever taken was in Bali; it was full of unexpected adventures lived with the person I love.

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
My daughter is the car DJ, so unluckily I listen to a lot of commercial music.

What is always in your fridge?

Dream house: rural retreat or urban dwelling? Where would it be, what would it be like?
A mobile housing unit, compact and flexible that I could place at any setting!

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
I would choose to go out with my grandfather who died when I was an infant. He was a great person and would have loved to know him better.

If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?
I will go for a 24 hour dancing session with my loved ones.

What is your greatest fear?
To be idle…

Tell me a joke…
