Apoel on the brink of sixth straight title

An Apoel win over Anorthosis at the GSP on Saturday will seal yet another Cyprus football championship

Apoel can clinch a sixth straight Cyprus football championship with victory over Anorthosis at the GSP stadium in Nicosia on Saturday evening.

The champions go into the final round of the season with a one-point advantage over Apollon, after trailing the Limassol side for most of the playoffs.

Apollon face struggling Omonia in Nicosia 24 hours later, hoping to still have a chance of winning the championship.

If Apoel draw or lose to Anorthosis, Apollon will be able to swoop in and take advantage in what has been a thrilling title race.
