Bad weather causing power cuts (updated)

Some villages in rural Limassol suffered power cuts for a few hours on Monday, the third day in a row due to bad weather.

Power was cut just after 2.30pm in Moniatis, Arsos, Pano Platres, Trimilklini, Vasa Kilaniou, Potamitissa, Pera Pedi and Omodos. It was restored some four hours later.

Earlier, an electricity company spokeswoman said technicians were trying to repair the damage and restore power.

Christina Papadopoulou said strong winds and lightning have caused power cuts in the higher areas of the Limassol district.
