Freddie Mercury may not be with us anymore, but tribute act Gary Goodmaze will prove that the show must go on in Paphos when he reminds us of the man who made Queen a legendary band, for two performances during the weekend.
Goodmaze, from East End London, started his career as a stand-up comedian. During the beginning of his career he performed on various radio stations and clubs all over the UK. Even though he got the crowds laughing, his love for music won over and he decided to change direction with his career. He started to work on his appearance, voice and showmanship to become almost equal – in looks and sound – to the late, great Freddie Mercury, and before long he was on the tribute act circuit.
Once he looked and sounded like Mercury, he spent the next couple of years travelling the country and performing the show. Quickly he was in high demand as the Queen lead singer. Next, he formed a band named Queened which gave him the chance to play bigger venues, as well as still being able to perform solo. Before long Goodmaze began to take the show overseas and he began appearing in the Middle East, America and Europe. He has played in major venues, hotels and clubs and now he is ready to rock Paphos.
