A minute with

A minute with Gareth Severn One of seven entertainers involved with the Charity Music Fest in June

Where do you live?
I live with my wife and two of our kids in Timi, Paphos

Best childhood memory?
Receiving an amazing, top-of-the-range Go Kart one Christmas.

Most frequented restaurant and absolute favourite dish?
La Cultura del Gusto in Pernera, Protaras. The wild boar in Jack Daniels sauce is a must have.

What do you turn your nose up to?
There’s not much I don’t like but would say a definite ‘no’ to lychees.

What did you have for breakfast?
I don’t do breakfast very much, but when I do it’s the ‘full English’

Would you class yourself as a day or night person? What is your favourite night out?
A night person. Obviously with my entertainment background – one of my specialities is a Robbie Williams tribute act ‘Gareth as Robbie’ – so needs must I am a night bird for much of the time. I love a night out at the theatre.

Best book ever read?
The Belgariad Series by David Eddings. Nothing not to like about pure fantasy and the books are brilliant written and plotted

Favourite film of all time?
Flash Gordon – again childhood memories and just a perfect mix of music, comedy and science fiction

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Cyprus – because it’s amazing!

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
Rolling Stones

What is always in your fridge?
Coke for my whiskey!

Dream house: rural retreat or urban dwelling? Where would it be, what would it be like?
Exactly where I am now on a beautiful island surrounded by wonderful people and my family.

What is your greatest fear?
Spiders

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
Freddie Starr because I can imagine him to have so many brilliant stories to tell.

Tell me a joke?
I don’t know many clean ones but here we go. Boy complains to his father: ‘you told me to put a potato in my swimming trunks! You said it would impress the girls! But you forgot to mention one thing…’
Father ‘Really, what?’
Boy: ‘The potato should go in the front!’

Gareth as Robbie will take part in the The Music fest – Charity Concert and Summer Dance Party in Pissouri Amphitheatre on June 1. For more information go to www.paphosmusiclovers.simplesite.com, www.stmichaels-hospice-charity.com, Facebook: musicfestcyprus
