Dust levels and temperatures expected to be high on Monday

The labour department announced that small particles with a diameter smaller than 10μm (PM10) exceeded the safe concentration of 50 μg/m3 at 11am in Limassol, Nicosia, Paphos and Famagusta and vulnerable groups should stay inside when possible until the dust subsides.

Levels are normal in Nicosia and in the mountains.

On Monday, temperatures are forecast to reach a maximum of 38C around Nicosia, 29C along the west coast and the mountains, and around 34C in other coastal regions.

The hot weather will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday while it will be slightly cooler on Thursday.

Minimum temperatures at night are 21C inland, 19C near the sea and 15C in Troodos.
