Cooler weather until Sunday

The weather is forecast to be much cooler on Friday than in the days before, reaching 33C inland, 26C on the west coast, 29C in other coastal areas and 24C in the higher mountains. The highest temperature on Thursday was 38C, six degrees above average for the time of the year.

Temperatures will remain the same on Saturday and rise slightly on Sunday.

On Friday afternoon some rain, mainly in the north east, may fall. During the weekend it will be mostly sunny, but isolated rain and storms are possible in the mountains and inland.

At night temperatures will fall to around 17C on the central plain, 18C near the sea and 10C in Troodos.

Dust levels are currently high in Limassol and moderate in other areas. More dust is expected on Sunday.
