Boy 13, injured after crashing stolen car

A stolen car driven by a 13-year-old boy crashed on the Larnaca to Limassol motorway on Monday afternoon, slightly injuring the teenage driver.

The car which went off the road and crashed near Moni at 4.30pm had been reported stolen earlier in the day.

A Larnaca resident told police that thieves had taken the vehicle between 10am and noon from a parking area in Kiti. The car was unlocked and the keys were in the ignition.

The teenager was taken to Limassol general hospital where he was treated and released.

Police are investigating the causes of the accident and the theft.
