If we were to name one place in Paphos that world-class tribute acts flock to, then that would surely be the Colosseum restaurant. It has hosted acts that have paid tribute to Elvis Priestly, George Michael, Freddie Mercury and others. Some of them have been repeat acts but the one paying tribute to the legends of soul on Wednesday and Thursday will remind of legendary singers Stevie Wonder, Barry White, George Benson and Louis Armstrong.
The man to take on these heavy-weight legends of soul is Shenton Dixon from the UK, who will be entertaining on the rooftop terrace while audience members enjoy a three-course dinner.
Shenton has an incredible performing history – he has appeared with Edwin Starr in the original Tamla Motown Musical Dancing In The Streets and has toured throughout the UK and Europe. He is an accomplished piano player and guitarist and has been the musical director for several gospel choirs. He is really a talented musician who reminds us of how Barry White romanced us, of how George Benson still gets us every time with his scat guitar, of the dynamic piano playing and harmonic voice of Stevie Wonder and how Louis Armstrong is the king of the trumpet.
For his two shows at Colosseum Restaurant, Shenton will perform classic Stevie Wonder songs during the first half of the show and for the second half he will pay tribute to the other legends with some Motown classics and soul hits.
