Even though we came second in the Eurovision Song Contest this month, the debate as to whether the 2019 song contest will be held on our shores is still going strong.
While Eurovision fans fight it out, we can still dance and sing along to Fuego – as it is on the radio every second song. But what about the rest of us who want to live the vibe on the contest and are not satisfied with a Youtube clip or playing the song over and over again. Never fear, Eleni Foureira will be here on Saturday to set Limassol on fire.
Foureira may be in the spotlight now but she has been making waves in the music world for quite a while. She began her musical career as a member of the Greek girl band Mystique in 2007. Two years later when the group split she set out on a solo career. She released her fist solo album in 2010, which received a platinum certificate in Greece. Her next three albums, including the 2017 album called Vasilissa, were also very successful in Greece and here.
Now she is taking Europe by storm with Fuego. Her latest performance in Spain had her showing the Spanish a few moves and had them dedicate a dance performance to her.
Live performance by the Greek singer. June 9. Colosseo, 22 Ampelakion Street, Germasogeia. 11.30pm. Tel: 99-994040
