Arrests for selling laughing gas

In two separate incidents on Wednesday Famagusta police arrested women for the illegal sale of laughing gas.

At around 4.30 in the afternoon a 19-year-old was seen in Ayia Napa with a cylinder of laughing gas and nine unused ampules, one used, 25 balloons and a small amount of cash. The teenager had been seen in the past selling balloons of laughing gas to tourists.

All the above items were confiscated and the teenager was arrested.

Later, at around 11pm police saw another young woman, 21, also selling laughing gas in Ayia Napa, specifically selling a balloon to a tourist.

In her possession police found a laughing gas cylinder, 17 unused ampules, one used, 13 balloons and a small amount of cash.

She too was arrested and the laughing gas items confiscated as evidence.
