Kids will love the Iliaktida festival

Weekends at this time of year tend to be spent at the beach, near the beach or with a view of the beach. Swimming, building sandcastles and tanning is all good and well for a while but wouldn’t you just love it if there was something more constructive you could do with the kids while at the seaside?

If the seaside town you choose for your beach adventures this weekend is Limassol then you are in luck, the tenth Iliaktida Children’s Festival will be running at the old port.

Other than giving a weekend of games, laughs and activities, the festival is also being organised in support of the Limassol based charity organisation Imeras Agapis Pediou (Love Chilren’s Day). Proceeds will go to the organisation and to villages in Greece.

During both days there will be a huge climbing wall, survivor games, lego games from Bricks4Kids – the Limassol Lego centre – a pottery wheel, a wheel of fortune, arts and crafts, tin toss, ring toss, face painting, balloon creations and more.

The festival will also have something very special up its sleeve for the kids, the new fairytale by Greek writer for children Eugene Trivizas Apsou, Apsa, Apsi – The Three Sick Little Turtles, will be read by actors Thelma Georgiou and Demetris Constantinides

Entrance fee to the festival is €1 and all activities are free of charge.
