Three men remanded over teen drug death

Three Syrian nationals were remanded in custody for four days in Limassol on Saturday in connection with the death of an 18-year-old who died after using methamphetamine.

The suspects, aged 25, 27, and 39, are believed to be the people who sold the drug to the 18-year-old on Sunday in Trahoni. The teenager died on Thursday after falling in a coma.

The suspects had been placed in custody on Monday after police raided the establishment where the transaction had allegedly taken place and found drugs in their possession.

They were re-arrested after the teenager’s death with the offence under investigation now being manslaughter.

Police said they have also issued an arrest warrant for a 38-year-old man from Trahoni who is the owner of the premises. The man is said to be abroad.
