There are many ways to say thank you. One mother has chosen to thank the Theoskepatsi Special Needs School, which her daughter Freya attends, with a charity concert on Sunday at the Eleouthkia Botanic and Entertainment Park in Anertia, Paphos.
The Theoskepatsi Special Needs School provides a nurturing and safe environment and offers comprehensive programmes for children with a variety of disabilities. It accepts children and young adults that cannot be integrated into mainstream schools. “We hope our concert will help get them the extra equipment they really need,” said organiser Dorothy Westwood.
The concert will be performed by Christina Simone and Gore Melian, there will be a rich buffet and also a raffle with great prizes up for grabs.
Simone is an award-winning vocalist and entertainer from the North East of England. During her 24-year career, the singer has performed in some of the country’s top theatres as part of the productions A Night with Streisand and Diamond.
When speaking about the charity concert, Simone said “I love performing in Cyprus and I have made some lovely friends. I can’t wait to return and I am looking forward to performing with Gore”.
Melian, from Armenia, has been singing on local and international stages since the age of three. He studied at Trinity College London and has been composing music and lyrics since he was 15-years-old.
He sings in English, Greek and Armenian and his music covers a broad spectrum from R ‘n’ B, soul, pop and classics. Among his many achievements is his digital single Suddenly which he wrote, produced and performed. The song made it through to the semi-finals in the Love Songs category of a UK song writing contest in 2011.
