Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu is due to visit the north in the coming days. Turkish Cypriot press reported on Tuesday.
Daily Yeni Bakis newspaper reported that ‘foreign affairs and deputy prime minister’ Kudret Ozersay called Cavusoglu to congratulate his government on Turkey’s elections.
According to an announcement by the ‘ministry’, Cavusoglu said to Ozersay that he would soon visit the north.
Moves Are afoot to have the Cyprus talks resume following their collapse a year ago in Crans-Montana Switzerland. The UN is planning to appoint an envoy to scope out prospects for a new round of negotiations now that elections in Turkey are over.
