Partying on the beach

It is the season when festivals reign above all and, as the Guaba Beach Bar in Limassol is well-known for putting the party into our weekends, it’s only logical that it would join the festival bandwagon and offer a three-day festival to move our feet in the sand to.

The Guaba fun will kick off tomorrow with old-school dance and techno originals Gabriel & Dresden, who will return to Guaba to get things started with a nighttime beach party from 9pm until 3am.

Get some rest, because Saturday will be a full day of music, dancing and cooling-off in the sea. The day party starts at 4pm and ends at 7pm with Amsterdam-born Chelina Manuhutu. She has taken over the underground music scene with her groovy stream of high quality mixes, and now she is ready to take over the beach.

The Saturday-night beach party will see German DJ and electronic dance music producer Claptone take to the decks from 11pm until 1pm and London-born house and techno duo Eli & Fur from 1am until 3am.

Claptone will be bringing some techno and house vibes to the beach. He gained recognition in 2013 with the song ‘No Eyes’ featuring JAW, and his album achieved gold status in the UK after the Claptone remix debuted on the Essential Mix of BBC Radio 1.

Taking us into the morning hours will be Eli & Fur, who have been making audiences jump up and down since the release of their debut album in 2013. The duo perform a sound built around infectious melodies with deep, driving bass lines topped by their trademark brooding vocals.

As always, Sundays at Guaba have no lack of action and this Sunday the action will be times two as the day will be filled with music from two main acts, DJ Laidback Luke from Holland and Sara Gold from Belgium.

Laidback Luke is a well-established artist and has worked with the likes of David Guetta, Steve Angello, the percussionist Nebat Drums, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, Example and Junior Sanchez, and has played throughout Europe and North America as well as shows in Japan and Ibiza.

The last day of the festival will also see rising star Sara Gold, who is a lover of all things musical as she’s gone from dancing and singing to playing instruments and songwriting. Now, she puts all her energy into the DJ box, and puts her golden touch on all the sounds she mixes.
