The next phase of the Nostos – The Return project will take place at the end of October in London, officials from Cyprus, Greece and Egypt decided on Tuesday.
Presidential Commissioner Photis Photiou, Greece’s Deputy Foreign Minister Terence Quick and Egypt’s Minister of Diaspora Nabila Makram discussed issues concerning tourism, culture, education and university study at the meeting in Nicosia.
Photiou said all three decided to work with their respective ministries of tourism “to encourage tour operators to create joint packages for our diasporas, so that they will have the opportunity to visit the three countries.”
Makram said it was a pleasure to discuss the next phase of Nostos, “by getting the youth of each country to be engaged in Nostos. Youth are the future of the three countries. And the future of each country should know the history, the culture and the exceptional relation among the three countries so that they could take the lead afterwards.”
Quick said they discussed the promotion of the project Nostos – The Return of our Treasures, which would see the return of cultural treasures from museums abroad.
Youth of all three diasporas will visit all three countries in September.
